Disclaimer: Paramount owns DS9 and its characters. I happen to own this
story. Trust me, they wouldn't want to touch this with a ten-foot pole.
^_^
Oh and I'm going to assume the song that gets slightly mutilated in this
story belongs to Shari Lewis.
Wherever she is I hope she forgives me for this.
This is my weird take on how to get the senior staff back together. Oh and
for those of you who don't know the song it goes like this:
This is the song that doesn't end.
Yes, it goes on and on my friend!
Some people started singing it not knowing what it was.
And they'll continue singing it forever just because,
This is the song that doesn't end...
(It gets hypnotic after a while. ^_^)

Kira came through the airlock looking slightly perplexed. Quark, Kasidy, Jake, Worf, O'Brien, Dax, and Bashir were waiting for her.
"Is something wrong, Kira?" asked Bashir. "Besides the fact that Odo is
gone?"
"I'm not sure," Kira replied. She looked at Ezri, "I sang the song."
Ezri cocked her head to the side, "What song?"
"The song that doesn't end."
"The one that goes on and on, my friend?" Ezri's eyebrows rose.
Quark looked at Bashir for clarification. "Some people started singing it not knowing what it was," Bashir explained.
The Ferengi was astounded. "And they'll continue singing it forever just because--"
"This is the song that doesn't end!" Exclaimed Jake impressed.
"Yes! It goes on and on, my friend!" Ezri clapped Jake on the arm happy
that he understood.
"Some people started singing it not knowing what it was?" Kasidy asked
still trying to understand.
"And they'll continue singing it forever just because--" O'Brien still
couldn't comprehend it.
"This is the song that doesn't end!" Growled Worf more annoyed than usual.
"And it goes on and on, my friend." Ezri cringed as Worf turned his growl on her.
Bashir took Ezri in his arms to comfort her and yelled at Worf. "Some
People started singing it not knowing what it was!"
Kira smirked at the Klingon. "And they'll continue singing it forever just because--"
"This is the song that doesn't freaking end!!" Worf screamed.
"OH NO! NOT YOU, TOO!" Came two male voices behind them.
"Odo!" Kira cried and ran into his arms.
"Ben!" "Dad" Jake and Kasidy ran into Sisko's arms.
"Please, please don't tell me you're singing the song," Odo pleaded.
"Not the song that doesn't end," added Sisko.
"The one that goes on and on, my friend?" Chirped Ezri.
"Stop!!" Screamed Odo and Sisko.
Rising once more to his girlfriend's defense Bashir explained, "Some people started singing it not knowing what it was."
"No!" Sisko and Odo cried in an effort to stop him.
"Quark smirked, "And they'll continue singing it forever just because-"
"Oh Prophets!"
"--This is the song that doesn't end," Quark needled them.
Quick as lightning, Odo's golden substance wrapped around Quark's neck. He dragged the squirming Ferengi towards him. "The next person who says one more line of that song--" he snarled.
"Is going to be chucked out an airlock," Sisko growled.
Quark nodded and Odo released him. Odo jumped and giggled. "Kira, later," he hissed.
"Oops. Sorry," Kira whispered from behind him. Then she came up under his arm. "Not to seem ungrateful but what are you doing here?"
"Yeah," Kasidy said turning to Sisko. "You were off on some grand mission for the Prophets. What happened?"
"Kira," the two men said casting the Colonel sour looks.
"Me?! What did I do?" Kira glared at them insulted and shocked.
"You sang!" They cried.
"What?!"
"You sang the song that doesn't end," they said.
"The one that goes--" Ezri started before Bashir clamped his hand over her mouth.
"Shut up, Dear." He whispered with a smile.
Odo turned to Kira. "You just *had* to sing it all the way to the Founder's planet didn't you. It got stuck in my mind!" He cast desperate glances at everybody. "I'm sitting there healing the world and then this far off voice in the Link starts singing." He made his voice high pitched. "'This is the song that doesn't end. Yes, it goes on and on my friend!'" Back to his normal voice Odo said, "When that one voice started then the others started." Odo gave a disgusted harrumph. "Let me tell you: the Founders sing off-key and they sing *loud!* Ew!" He shuddered. "After five minutes I couldn't take it anymore. I summoned a Jem'Hadar ship and had them take me home. Halfway through the wormhole look who pops up on the bridge but him." He pointed to Sisko.
"I defeated Dukat and we both died. Next thing I know my mom is telling me to rest and that I can't go home. Then you two pass through the wormhole." He pointed at Kira, "You're singing the song that doesn't end."
Everybody looked at Ezri.
"What?!"
Sisko continued, "It's bad enough you were singing it going in but coming back out too?" His voice fell to a whisper. "Then all across time I hear it. 'This is the song that doesn't end. Yes, it goes on and on my friend..." Sisko put his head in his hands. "They sang it over and over and over! The echoes were enough to make me turn to the Pah Wraiths."
Kira gasped.
"I asked them if they had any aspirin!" Sisko wailed. Kasidy comforted him as he cried on her shoulder. With a sniffle he continued. "I had to get out of there. When Odo came through the wormhole I slipped onboard and we came home."
Odo shook his head. "In any case, I don't think we'll be hearing from the Founders for a *long* time."
"Or the Prophets," added Sisko.
Just then Garak came up to them.
"Garak!" Bashir cried happily. "When did you get here?"
"Just a few moments ago," Garak replied.
"Why are you here though? I thought you were going to help rebuild
Cardassia."
Garak frowned slightly. "Well, it's the weirdest thing. I was talking to the female Founder when she started to sing." He shook his head in amazement. "She just kept singing the same little ditty over and over. 'This is the song that--"
"STOP! WE'VE HEARD IT!" Everybody screamed.
"Yes, well...to make a long story short she drove me nuts and I phasered her out of existence. The others were not pleased when they found out so they exiled me." He shrugged. "So, here I am. Why she started singing it I don't know."
Everyone looked at Kira.
"What?!"
"So, you're the reason I'm back?" Garak asked confused.
Kira dug her toe into the carpet. "It's a long story but, yeah, I guess
so."
Odo and Sisko looked at each other then at Kira. "He's got a point,"
murmured Odo.
"True," replied Sisko.
"So, we're all back together." O'Brien summed it up.
Everyone turned to Kira. "Thank you, Kira," they chorused.
Kira blushed and smiled. "You're welcome."
